The Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea’s Bikeminded campaign – which aims to encourage those that live and work in the area to get on their bikes – has teamed up with Harrods for a fantastic ‘Style the Cyclist’ competition, in which you get the chance to style two local personalities! Whether you’re a stylist or someone with a particular eye for fashion, you are being invited to “style” (via Pinterest) Italian jewellery designer Carolina Bucci – a keen user of the Barclays bikes to get to work – and founder of Sipsmith Gin, Sam Galsworthy, who often uses a bike to deliver to stockists! The competition aims to show that taking to two wheels doesn’t mean that fashion has to take a back seat, and that the latest trends and looks can still be enjoyed if you’re a keen cyclist.

To enter, all you have to do is create a Pinterest board for either one of the personalities, and select clothes and accessories from harrods.com to create a full look that reflects their lifestyle and personality.

The competition opens this Friday, 18th May, and will run until Sunday 27th May. Entries will be judged by an expert panel including fashion journalist for the Independent, Harriet Walker; fashion blogger Kristen Knox, aka the Clothes Whisperer; and sportswear GMM at Harrods, Stewart Mancey. The team will be judging entries based on style, individuality, suitability for the personality and practicality.

And what’s the prize? Well, two lucky winning entries will receive a £150 Harrods voucher, a fantastic goody bag, AND have their winning look photographed by a renowned fashion photographer, to be featured in Absolutely and Harrods Magazine.

Kristen Knox, ones of the judges of ‘Style the Cyclist’ says:

“We look forward to receiving some innovative and inspirational style ideas for city cyclists from some of the most creative fashion minds out there. The ‘Style the Cyclist’ competition is a fantastic opportunity for stylists or anyone with an interest in fashion to showcase their talents. In addition to the great prizes, getting their winning outfits shot and styled for a prestigious fashion spread would be a great addition to someone’s portfolio!”

Councillor Nick Paget-Brown, Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea says:

“As our Bikeminded campaign shows, there are many people in London who look fantastic when cycling around, however we want to encourage even more people back into cycling in the borough. We are delighted to have teamed up with Harrods to give our competition entrants access to some of the most innovative and creative designers around, and look forward to proving that you can look stylish and fashionable on two-wheels.”
