Apartments for two or four people available; there&#8217;s also complimentary wi-fi throughout the building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tips on renting a short-term apartment or room<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Some of you, especially those travelling from the US, may be familiar with renting apartments for a few days\/weeks via <a href=\"http:\/\/www.craigslist.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Craigslist<\/a>. Although there is a <a href=\"http:\/\/london.craigslist.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Craigslist London<\/a>, the site isn&#8217;t all that popular or well-used in the capital. Instead, you can take a look at a website called&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.gumtree.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gumtree<\/a>, a classified ads website in the UK. They have a holiday rentals section (as well as house swap listings, plus houses and flats to rent long-term, and a house-share section too.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unfortunately, it can sometimes be a little tricky trying to find suitable accommodation via the site, and scams aren&#8217;t all that uncommon. If anyone asks you to transfer money for a deposit on a flat (or even the full amount!) via Western Union, this is almost a sure-fire sign that the apartment you&#8217;re trying to rent is a scam &#8211; DON&#8217;T DO IT! Likewise, if a property looks too good to be true (very luxury, great location, really low price), it probably is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course, that&#8217;s not to say that you can&#8217;t find somewhere to stay via Gumtree. Try and see if you can see the flat first (when you arrive) before agreeing to stay there. Or, if you have a friend in London, ask them to view the flat.
