Markets

There aren't too many markets in Kensington & Chelsea, so it's just as well that one of the most London famous ones - Portobello Market - is in the area!

Portobello Market
Underground: Notting Hill Gate or Westbourne Park
On (and around) the mile-long Portobello Road, the market sells a wide variety of goods, clothes, antiques and even food with different items sold on different days. The market is open every day, except for Sunday.

On weekdays you'll find the food market; Fridays clothes and bric-a-brac; and on Saturdays there is the world-famous antiques market.

Notting Hill Farmers' Market
Car park behind Waterstones, just off Notting Hill Gate
Website: http://www.lfm.org.uk/nott.asp
Underground: Notting Hill Gate
Open 9am to 1pm every Saturday, this one's a real hidden gem - one of the better farmers' markets. Small, with about 15 stalls, but always busy. There's a good butcher here, and the bread is top notch.
